During the beginning of the one year countdown to the 2008 Olympics, an inauguration ceremony was held in the government hall. As the government representative, Ms. Zang Aimin presented Olympic souvenirs to all volunteers.

       During the 2007 Qingdao International Sailing Competition there will be a total of 1770 volunteers, 1400 of them will work within the Olympic venue, 240 will be located throughout the city providing translation services, information services and other services at many public places, and 100 will help assure traffic order.

       Ms. Zang encouraged the volunteers to have a professional working attitude, a willing to sacrifice outlook, a team player, and holds a high standard in both personal and work areas. Ms. Zang hopes the volunteers will use their smiles to show how friendly, confident and passionate Qingdao is.

       In the end, all the volunteers took an oath to prove that Qingdao is the best Olympic sailing host city.
